An 18-year-old teenager, who left an unsecured and loaded gun in reach of his 4-year-old brother who picked it up off his nightstand and accidentally shot himself in the head, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and other-related charges in November. Though he was sentenced to house arrest and five years of probation on Tuesday.
According to The Philadelphia Inquirer, Victor Lara-Ortiz, of Coatesville, was trembling in the courtroom with emotions while in his mother’s embrace, telling the Chester County Court Judge Analisa Sondergaard he takes “full responsibility” for his brother Roman’s death.
